I had Great time again this year in
Bristol and could even spend two additional days to discover this
beautifull town, its street arts, etc... Going out to visit other
festivals of other countries is the best way to multiply the pleasures
and friends, knowledge about the harmonica. I can only encourage you ...
Roger Trobridge is sharing the saturday night concert
HERE ...
All the details are here (Follow the link)... Also lots of Jam sessions, first in the Folk House traditionally to open the festival on Friday, but also the night of Friday and Saturday in the Bristol Hotel. First time I could not believe my eyes, even the piano is there with lots of boogie 4 hands, confortable sofas, marble everywhere, THE BAR !!!! People having fun and so much proximity between everyone. Impossible to explain, you have to come !
Hermine Deurloo | Peter Madcat Ruth |
Hisako Yamaguchi from Japan, Roy Hugman,
Mat Walklate, Jon and Yuki Vaughan, Hermine Deurloo and Peter Madcat
Ruth are present this year ... Also as every year, there are so
many Masterclass that you always have three at the same time. And you
pay once when you arrive, after some people move from one room to the
other like in SPAH conventions (USA)... There are of course like every
years some material, instruments, books, CDs, DVD, harmonica boxes
etc...that you can buy. Bertram Bacher is always there with the Seydel
Team ready to help you, give you great advices. (The Masterclass on
tuning are Great) etc...
About the town, I will have lots of picture to show after the festival since I go one day before to visit...
To finish, let me share this link from
Barbara Tate, that I am always happy to meet in Bristol. Ten years ago
her husband Douglas Tate, famous harmonica player from the UK came the
very last time in NHL festival only one week before his death. To mark
the anniversary Barbara has made some of his recordings available here:
